8 day tour from Perth south to Albany and return, then north to Monkey Mia and return.
Perth - Pemberton - Walpole - Albany - Perth - Kalbarri N.P. - Monkey Mia - Dongara - Pinnacles - Perth

Day 1, Thursday

Perth Sandgroper Tours will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Perth. Depending on your arrival in Perth we will show you the sights of Perth and Fremantle on Day 1. We will show you Kings Park, the pride and joy of Perth residents, which covers an area of 404ha, the University of WA and South Perth. We will be driving along the Swan River, through the suburbs and allow for a stop at one of our most popular beaches Cottesloe.
Should you arrive in Perth in the evening, the sightseeing tour of Perth will be held on the last day.

Day 2, Friday: Perth - Pemberton

We head off south and reach the holiday destinations of Mandurah and Australind which is home to the smallest church in Western Australia. During our drive south, kangaroos can often be seen. We continue to Bunbury and Busselton and then to Sugarloaf Rock in Cape Leeuwin National Park and to the magnificent Canal Rocks; we then have time to stop at one of the famous wineries in the South West to sample the beautiful wines of Western Australia around Margaret River. We drive through the Boronup Karri Forest to Pemberton.
Day 2 accommodation: in Pemberton.

Day 3, Saturday: Pemberton - Walpole - Albany (B)

We will be visiting the heart of the forests of Pemberton. The huge Karri trees, the third largest in the world,Tingle Tree accompany you the whole day. If you are keen and brave enough you have the opportunity to climb the fire lookout, a 70m tall Karri tree, there are hundreds of step to climb, but the view from up there is well worth the effort. You will enjoy a most stunning extensive round view from Mount Chudalup(enormous Granite bolder). From there we will drive to Windy Harbour and Salmon Beach to the d'Entrecasteaux National Park with its rugged coastline. From Mandalay Beach you will have a fantastic view over the beach and the ocean. A further highlight of the area is the Tree Top Walk and the giant Tingle trees in the Ancient Empire in the Valley of the Giants. The trees can grow up to 18m in circumference and can reach 400 years of age. We may enjoy the view from a height of up to 40m and among the tree tops on a 600m round walk (highly reccommended). After this adventure we continue our trip to William Bay National Park and its Elephant Rocks.
Day 3 accommodation: in Albany.

Day 4, Sunday: Albany - Perth (B)

On this day we explore the historical town of Albany, which was established in 1826. Albany's natural harbour made it a thriving whaling port. Today Albany has still some old colonial buildings and Stirling Terrace is noted for its Victorian shopfronts. We head towards Torndirrup National Park, situated on a stunning stretch of coastline that includes The Gap and Natural Bridge. Small bays invite the wary traveller to cool off and swim. Further along the way we will see the new wind turbines which provide some of the power for the city of Albany. We then head back to Perth.

Day 5, Monday: Perth - Kalbarri N.P

We will pick you up from your hotel and head toward Kalbarri along the Wildflower Road(Mount Lesueur National Park's botanical diversity is world-renowned). Then we will follow on towards the holiday destinations of Dongara and Greenough and to Geraldton, the biggest city in the Mid-West famous for their million dollar lobsters industry. Via Port Gregory along the Hutt Lagoon (pink salt lake, farmed for the beta-carotene) to the coastal cliffs lookouts of the Kalbarri National Park, ie. Natural Bridge, Red Bluff.
Day 5 accommodation: in Kalbarri.

Day 6 Tuesday: Kalbarri N.P. - Monkey Mia (B)

We will be visiting the Kalbarri National Park with the Loop and Z Bend, Nature's Window and Hawks Head. The spectacular gorges, similar to that seen in some northern parts of Australia, are winding for 80km through the National Park. The sandstone is up to 3000m thick and was deposited about 400 million years ago. Following the first rains of the year, wildflowers start to appear in a spectacular array of colours. More than a 1000 species of plants are flowering between May and November each year. We will stop at the Shell Quarry next to the old Telegraph Station. In the vicinity of the extremely salty Hamelin Pool, Stromatolites are thriving. These Stromatolites are the earth's oldest living fossils.
Day 6 accommodation in Monkey Mia.

Day 7, Wednesday: Monkey Mia - Dongara (B)

The Dolphins generally will come in every day and we will be waiting for them. Afterwards we will head south and visit the Shell Beach formed by the accumulation of billions upon billions of tiny shells. We then head back and stay overnight near Geraldton.
Day 7 accommodation: in Dongara.

Day 8, Thursday: Dongara - Pinnacles - Perth (B)

Pluto PinnaclesToday we will show you the Pinnacles, a group of about 150,000 weird limestone formations ranging from less than a metre to up to five metres high. Formed 15 to 30 thousand years ago from the deposits of shell left behind when the sea receded, time, erosion and the winds have combined to form such formations as the Indian Chief, Milk Bottles and many others. When seen against their background of golden sand, it is reminiscent of a field of ancient ruins. After our visit to the Pinnacles we will drive back to Perth.

You should bring along: a small soft bag (please leave your suitcase at the hotel), comfortable shoes, shorts and t-shirts for during the day and long pants and a jumper for the evenings (usual the temperature is lower down south as in Perth), a hat, sunscream, bath towel and swimwear.
